Korean Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition
Dear members of the Korean Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition,
I am Baek Moo-jun, who has been inaugurated as the new chairman of the Korean Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, which boasts tradition and history.
First of all, I would like to express my respect and deep gratitude to the past presidents and chairmen, as well as various executives and members who have led our society wonderfully. In addition, I would like to express my sincere gratitude once again to the former chairman who overcame the unexpected difficulties that came to our society and the unprecedented COVID-19 situation over the past two years with excellent leadership.
Our society exchanges researches and knowledges on basic medicine related to nutrition and clinical nutrition focusing on parenteral nutrition and enteral nutrition, and promotes on research, education and business development regarding clinical nutrition in medical institutions. It is the only multi-disciplinary and multi-professional society in Korea that aims to promote national and human welfare.
KSPEN had successfully hosted the Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Society of Asia (PENSA) International Symposium in Seoul twice in 2005 and 2018. The annual conference of KSPEN has been transformed into an international one since 2019.
As the chairman of this excellent society, I feel a heavy responsibility, and intend to run the society keeping in mind the following three things during my term of office.
First, by making use of the characteristics of our society, which is a multi-professional, multi-disciplinary society, we will continue to maintain and develop it into a society in which members from many fields participate more actively. To this end, we will do our best to listen to the opinions of members of each profession and discipline, and to reflect their opinions throughout our society.
Second, we will further expand the board of directors, which has been operated with relatively elite members, so that the opinions of many members are conveyed to the executives through the board of directors, and through this, various activities of the society will be able to be planned and executed.
And third, above all, we will continue to preserve the tradition of our society by reflecting the opinions of many seniors and many colleagues who have led the society so far, and also run the society without hesitation with new attempts if necessary.
Dear members of the Korean Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition,
The difference between truly great organizations and those that aren't is not in whether or not they experience difficulties, but in whether they can survive and come back stronger than before.
Just as we successfully overcame the difficulties that faced us through the efforts of past presidents, chairmen, and other members, now all of our members should work together to make our society a happy society in which all members work with affection.
I would like to ask for support and interest from all members of the society.
